Kim's Painting

Painted was she was 16, this pink Volkswagen Beetle is dream painted with acrylic. Like another girl, she has a dream if one day she could have this pink-car. Through her painting, she's trying to show her cute and cheerful personalty. The choice of pink shows that she has girlie personality. However, it is she. Kim Yee Seul

-if-

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream---and not make dreams your master;
If you can think---and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!

A Little Story About (S)he

" I am what I am"

A short quote that I heard last Monday in creative writing class. It was mbak Sonya. Yeah! Last Monday we had special guest, and the guest was Mbak Sonya. Olivia Sonya Aresta is her full name, but usually people call her Sonya. She is one of activist in PKBI Yogyakarta. Mmm.. it is a  little bit difficult to tell where she comes from. Born in Klaten, lived for several years in Klaten then moved to Cilacap then back to Jogja, but in  her identity card she lives is Bandung.

Last Monday, she shared her experience with us. For me she is special, yes she is. She was born as the first son in her family. She spent her childhood in Klaten. She told us that her childhood was very happy. Then why ? "Because children is innocent, they can do everything they want," said Mbak Sonya. When she was a child, she preferred to play with a girl. A girl ? Yes, it is. She prefer to play "masak-masakan", barbie with the girls. Then a question comes to my mind, Why ?. She answered it shortly " because the boys are naughty". She told us that boy are naughty, rude and like to bully her so then she prefer to play with the girls. And this comfort zone continued until she entered the school. She dressed up as a normal boy, but again she preferred to socialize with the girls. Even her chairmate was a girl and she had a best-friend also a girl. At this time, she has decided to be a woman. Her decision of course made some people didn't agree, especially her mom. Her mom is the one who disagree with her decision, but for Mbak Sonya it doesn't make any matter. She proud of her self. She believes that she can do anything better even than a real woman. " I'm proud of my self. I can cook tastier than other woman and I can work properly than a man who cannot work and get money as well as me," said Mbak Sonya.

Eventhough , she is different from the other woman, but her spirit is really inspire us. No matter what she believes that she can do better than the others.

" I love people surround me, I love people who loved me and I'm proud to be my self." said Mbak Sonya in the end our conversation.

Plastic give a bad effect to land, animal also human. Therefore, this movie persuade us to minimize the use of plastic in order to care the environment. We can minimize the use of plastic start from little step; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. :)

Chairil Anwar: Aku Berkaca

Aku Berkaca

Ini muka penuh luka
Siapa punya ?

Kudengar seru menderu
dalam hatiku
Apa hanya angin lalu ?

Lagu lain pula
Menggelepar tengah malam buta

sakgoni.blogspot.com
When you heard Cabuk Rambak, what do you think? Yeah, it sounds weird right? Cambuk in English means whip and rambak maybe you don’t have any idea about it. Actually, cabuk rambak is traditional food from Solo. It is not as popular as other traditional food from Solo like Serabi,Tengkleng or Intip. Cabuk rambak often sell in traditional market but in my home, Cabuk rambak sold by woman peddler. I’m not sure if people in my town (Solo) ever heard about this food, because nowadays Cabuk rambak is not easy to find. I am feeling lucky because I can eat this delicious food in every Sunday morning.

Sliced ketupat covered with brown sauce and piece of rambak and served with banana leaf is cabuk rambak. The brown sauce made form sesame, chili, garlic and salt, it taste spicy and little bit hot then rambak is chip that made from rice it also have a spicy taste. One slice of ketupat with little brown sauce and a bit of rambak is perfect taste of it.

So, if you come to Solo try to eat this food, I guarantee you will not regret after eat this food. It is so deliciouso!

Merapi Eruption

October 26th 2010, Merapi eruption attacked Yogyakarta. It was the second eruption after the first eruption on September 11th 2010. The second eruption was worse than 1872 eruption. Merapi produced lahars, ash and pyroclastic flow which was bigger than the latest eruption. Yogyakarta was in emergency condition. Everywhere covered with grey ashes which could harm human.

"I was sleeping when volcano ashes came," said Ayi, 20 a student of UGM  " I was in my boarding house and shock when I saw everything was grey." Merapi eruption produced volcano ashes in the midnight. Most people was deep in slept and didn't realize that volcano ashes were come. Ayi added that she heard a lot of hard materials falling in the roof.

Yogyakarta was in alert status. Search and rescue team was busy evacuated the residents who lived 7 kilometers from Merapi. Ayi said after the volcano ashes were come she went to Jalan Kaliurang to check the situation. "It was very crowded, I saw SAR team evacuated the victim using military truck," she said " The trucks were passing by and I saw a man was pouring water to the trucks's window which covered by ashes."

However, Ayi's campus didn't announce anything during Merapi eruption. In the morning, she still went to campus to check whether there were any classes or not, but then she received a sms (short message service) that said there was study-off almost a half month. Instead of happy she was sad, airport was closed and tickets for train and bus were sold quickly. She were trapped in Jogja also her friends. The next day, she  tried to go out from Jogja by riding her motorcycle to went back to her hometown although ashes have fulfilled the air.

During the study-off for almost a half month. Ayi was monitoring the situation of Jogja. Every station had headline news about Merapi from the little things to the bigger things. She was shock when she heard that Mbah Maridjan ( Juru Kunci Merapi) was dead. "It showed how amazing the eruption was" she said. After a week, she came back to Jogja. The condition was more conducive than a week before but there still covered with grey ashes. However, this eruption makes trauma for her.

An Angry Cell-Phone

It was 10:05 am

The day started with heavy rain since the morning. I run down through the parking area. As always--- in hurry. Yes, the reason was my class started at 10.00 am and I was already late. Again and again.

It was 2.10 pm

The sun was shine brightly but it still little bit cloudy. The weather was neither cold nor hot. It just so so. I sat in brown chair near the building and I found myself in big disappointment.

“Hi, Hi, Hello! What’s up girl?” someonewas talking.
“Nothing.” I answered
She stared at me and continued “It must be something right?”
“Hmm... ya.”
“So, tell me why.”
“Don’t you know this morning I came to my class late--very late, and the worst I forgot to print out my assignment, it very frustrated.”
“How poor you are!” she replied
“You just wanna say how poor I am? How dare you! It’s your entire fault!”
She opened her eyes wider and stared at me “Me? Why? What’s my fault?”
“Yes you! You didn't singing this morning so I wake up late.”
“I woke you up but you turn me off. So it’s not my fault right if I didn't singing?”
“How come! I didn't hear you!” I argued.

I took a deep breath, trying to control my tension. How could I get angry with my cell phone? I looked around, I saw people around me, their face getting confused and some of them yelled “Is she crazy get angry with her cell phone?”

“So, how?” she asked.
“What how?! Can you just shut up your mouth and be a beautiful cell phone?!” I opened my eyes widely.
“What? Beautiful? How can I be beautiful while you don’t treat me well? Look, my body getting weak, I got a lot of hole around my body, you just put scotch tape here and here! You just let my body wet two weeks ago when you brought me in heavy rain, you also slammed my body down, you also didn't give me a hard case, you also.....”
“Enough!!! What the hell it is, I don’t wanna hear you anymore. I hate you!” I cut her argument.
“Oh I hate you more, honey!”
“Damn! I’ll buy a new cell phone, throw you out and I’ll never meet you again”
“Oh Good! I feel regretful for being your cell phone!” she yelled.

I lost my temper and I shocked when one of my friends came and told me that the class has been started.
I stared at my cell phone and leaved her alone in that brown chair. Hopes someone finds her and treats her better than me. However, I thank to her for being part of my life for almost 4 years.

Malioboro

When we heard Yogyakarta, what do you think ? Yes... the first thing that comes to our mind is Malioboro. Malioboro is tourism place located in the middle of Kota Yogyakarta. As time goes by Malioboro has changed. The old and new Malioboro is definitely different in every aspects. Beside the place, the culture and the people also changed. People nowadays might find the new Malioboro more attractive and modern, Looking through old pictures of Malioboro, it is a pretty much proof that Jogja has developed a lot. For instance, Malioboro nowadays is obviously more crowded than the old time. This situation might happen because of the increasing of population. Indicate, the old Malioboro was more spacey, as we can see in the old picture of Malioboro that lots of people walk rather than using any possible transportation. Yogyakarta, especially, Malioboro, is a tourism destination. When people or visitors see it as a place where they can spend time for vacation or so, this makes the place grows rapidly and becomes a business area. It looked spacey and cleaner back then. We don’t really see much billboards or banners. If there aren’t any or, at least, not as much as now, our eyes will probably be more comfortable. Also, along the side roads, there are lots of sellers selling their stuffs, like clothes, accessories, bags, food, tattoo, and piercings. These crowds make pedestrians feel a little uneasy. But, the now Jogja orMalioboro is actually not that bad either. We can see that Malioboro is more artsy and cultured—not that the old time is not, but it is more. This kind of development makes Malioboro attracts more people to spend more time there for shopping, visiting historical places, or even just for a little walk and sightseeing. Since human beings experience evolution, so do places—they develop and progress. It is natural. Throughout times, people tend to change depending on its social and economic demands (and perhaps from any other aspects, too). This also occurs to Malioboro. Change is needed and, sometimes, it is good. So, if you come to Jogja don't forget to visit Malioboro, the icon of Jogja.

Dreams Come True-- CW#3

Hello people...

This is my late post, because my inet connection was really bad, I'm so sorry..

Well, English Literature... I never thought that I would take this major. I never interested in any English major before. Yeah... my English was bad, even when I wrote this post I made some grammatical error. Hehehe. Back then, when I was in elementary school I never got any English subject. I just learned English by my self. I liked listening to western music at that time so I could learn little bit about English. How poor I am. The condition was getting bad when I was in Junior High School. Mmmm... I took acceleration class. Yak! I was going crazy. Everything was so fast. The teachers gave the lesson very very fast, even we finished one chapter of physics subject in 30 minutes. God! I couldn't imagine how could it be. This time I felt so down, I met people better better better than me, especially in English. I didn't know everything in English, I was totally sick!. I never got good score in first grade, and I had to made a decision, yess....I had to join English course. Time goes by... and I was in third grade. I remembered that day was "latihan ujian nasional 1". The first day was math and English, seems both was the hard subject right ? and the worst condition was....I got measles. Such a perfect combination being sick and hard subject. Do you know what score that I got ? I got 5 for each subject. The head of acceleration class called me and told me if I was not study hard I would fail in my final exam. I just smiled... How could I'm not studied for a big test like this ? kind a joke. I promised to my self that I would have a perfect score on my final exam and showed people that always underestimated me, I could. The day had come, I received an envelope, carefully I opened this envelope, I saw my name above then... perfect score for my English and math. I showed them who underestimate me that I could. The best lesson that I got, whatever people said about you just show them that you could better than him/her :)

Then, the day to made a decision was come. Actually, English was not my first decision, my first decision mmmm....yeah accounting (seems very popular). I wasn't interest in any major except accounting, but once my father told me, my English was not bad so he told me to choose  English major. Deep in my heart, I was curious about this major. I couldn't imagine what was the lesson, the future the bla bla bla.... and yes I realized that I was too curious about my self. I joined um UGM, the second open registration after PBS. UGM was my first decision no matter what. Studying in UGM was one of my dreams. When I was 8 y.o , I wrote my dreams in a peace of paper and hanged up in my wall. So, every time I saw this paper I remembered my dreams and trying to make it happen.

                                                            I keep it until now

And it works! I forgot the date but in April at 11.45 pm, one of friend called me. He said " Selamat ya mahasiswa ugm!", what "mahasiswa ugm ?" how could he know when I didn't know anything. I tried to enter my test number 3517 and the answer was " maaf nomor anda tidak terdaftar" how could it be ?!. I felt like I was dying, my heart beast fast and I was trembled. I relaxed my self, trying to accept the worst possibility. I was trying to sleep and opened the web the next morning. The next day I carefully checked in web, inserted my number waiting for some moment and..... "selamat anda diterima dijurusan Sastra Inggris Universitas Gadjah Mada" .

Alhamdulillah, I accepted in English Literature, the unimagine major for me. Hehehe. This is my six semesters , the long time for regret. I enjoy my study although sometime I feel so hard to follow. I keep my spirit on, like my experience, I wrote my dreams, hang it up in my wall, believe it and now I'm on my way to make it happen. For those who have a big dream, don't worry keep your spirit on, believe it and sure you can make it happen. :)

Jogjakarta

One of my dreams come true--- Yeah, living in Jogjakarta is one of my dreams. I think some people have same idea with me right ? Hehehe. Jogjakarta, small city that well-known with Gudeg and Batik always attract people's heart. Its convenience, culture, and foods successfully made me falling in love. When I was child, my parents worked in Jogja so every week I came to Jogja to spent our weekend. The convenience continued...... I liked to spent my holiday in Jogja with my friends. Lots of story we made in this beautiful city and now I'm on way to carve new story in Jogja. Hehehe.

THE FIVE SENSES

Wow, it seems like I'm in my mood to write in this blog. As mas Dalih said, in  writing  we should not only tell the reader but we have to show it. What is the different between tell and show ? Well, at first I also confused about the difference but what I got is-- telling is only give the general idea and showing is let the reader imagine what are you write about with the five senses that human have. That five senses are sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch.

Sight ( describe the appearance of your favorite place)
My favorite place is "Kubuki room", it is my private room in my house. I love this room where I can hear rain drops peacefully and when I open the window I clearly see the blue sky and get pure air. I took one bookcase there so I can put any novels. When I got boring I always went in this room and did what I want to did. Well, now I miss this room so much, I miss the peaceful air.

Smell (describe the stench of something that disgust you)
I think my smell sense didn't deal with everything that smell too strong. The most smell that I hate is durian, well maybe it is weird because a lot of people like this killer. When I get this smell I fell like something stab my head and make it dizzy.

Taste (describe the taste of your favorite food)
Talking about taste it means talking about food. I like cooking so I love eating too. Actually, I love every food in the world. One that I love so much is Cheese-choco larva, it is two layers of chocolate cake with mozzarella cheese in the middle, covered with dark chocolate cream. The cheese will be melt and mix with dark chocolate cream when you bite it. It's really daebak (re: awesome).

Hearing (describe the sound you first heard this morning)
Reason by Hoobastank was the first sound that I heard this morning, every morning actually. This is my daily alarm tone. The beat of this music is so energetic and will get louder and louder if I don't stop it. This sound always success wake me up in the morning.

Touch ( describe the texture of your shoes)
My shoes feels smooth since its made from elastic-leather. It has gold-ribbon accent in front and the sole is elastic because it made from rubber. Honestly, this shoes is not comfortable because I bought it in wrong size :(

I thank to God for everything He gives to me :)

Creative Writing :FIRST DAY OF SIXTH

Monday 18th, 2013 was my first day in sixth semester. It means I'm on my third year of study in UGM, seems like I'm not young anymore... yes of course and this is what I called "One Step Closer".

That day I prepared everything well, and I attended new subject called Creative Writing with Mr. Dalih (mas Dalih). The first time I heard this subject I thought the class would be boring and  I just wondering in my mind " What will we do ? What kind of writing that we have to write ?" but Mr. Dalih said this subject talks about blogging. It is so interesting to me since I interested to start blogging several times ago. Mr. Dalih also said that all of our task would be submitted in our blog, so that we have to make our own blog. Actually, I still confused how to make a good blog, one of my friend said that a good blog only have one genre. He means that in our blog we just write about one genre .For example if we interest with fashion so we have to write about fashion. By that time, I thought that this blog was not good. I just wrote everything I want. Now, surely I want to manage this blog well although I have not find the genre yet. I'll wrote about my best experience in my life through this blog. Anyway, the first class of Creative Writing was interesting for me. Mr. Dalih tough us how to write in blog well. I'm adore him in his way to stringing word by word. I hope I can follow this subject well, and foremost to improve my writing skill.

By the way, all of my Creative Writing's assignment will be post in this blog. So, I will be regularly writing here. If you find Creative Writing labels, so that is my assignment. Please wait my next post whether in Creative Writing labels or not! :)

So do I....
I just passed my teenager life and come to what I called "nu life"
No more playing, no more tears, no more complain, no more other negative things.
This is the time I catch my dream, and make it happen..
